High Performance Rowing Scholarship

Each year there are a limited number of rowing scholarships available from the University. Click here for more details and an application form.

Senior

If you have previous experience of rowing competitively then this is the squad for you. The squad competes at a very high standard nationaly and internationally and is always looking to improve and develop. To join, you need to speak to the men's captain on the contact page, or come and visit our stand at Fresh at the start of the year.

Novice

Never rowed before? Want to try it out? The novice rowing program at Bristol is structured, highly challenging and rewarding. It aims in one year to get members racing at a competitive level.

The main purpose of the squad is to provide motivated and skilled athletes for the senior squad and potentially the U23 Great Britain rowing team.

To join, either speak to one of the novice captains (on the contact page) or come and see us at Fresh at the start of the year.

Generally the start of the academic year is the only time it is possible to join the novice squad since the group progresses together very quickly - late arrivals will need to show a high level of natural talent to be admitted.

Alumni

If you used to row at UBBC and would like to support the club, get in contact with the alumni committee who are always very happy to hear from ex-UBBC members.

Public Membership

Almost 100% of our members are students at the The University of Bristol, however the Boat Club is open to public membership.
